WATERTOWN — Bernard Joseph Bernetsky, 91, of Wilder Street, passed away September 18, 2020, at his home. He was the beloved husband of Marilyn (Carmody) Bernetsky.

Bernard was born in Mahoney City, Pa., on March 14, 1929, son of the late Stanley and Anne (Miller) Bernetsky. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in the Korean War.

He married Marilyn in 1957 and together they raised their family in Watertown. He worked as an automation engineer at Timex for many years. He enjoyed golf, flag football, yearly vacations in San Diego, Calif., and spending time with his family.

Besides his wife Marilyn of 63 years, he leaves behind his four sons, Brian Bernetsky and his wife, Pat, of New Jersey, Timothy Bernetsky of California, Paul Bernetsky and his wife, Bridget, of Ohio, and Thomas Bernetsky of California; his 10 grandchildren, Melissa, Amanda, Andrew, Daniel, Peter, Julia, Kevin, Lucy, Jackson and Marleau; his sister- in-law, Hildergard Carmody of Virginia; his niece, Carolyn Carmody, and his nephew, Thomas Carmody.

A memorial mass will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, September 24, at St. John the Evangelist Church, 574 Main St., Watertown. Burial of ashes will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet directly at church.
