Watertown Student Receives Scholarship from Lions Club

WATERTOWN — Noah Ryan of Watertown received a $2,000 Academic Scholarship from the Lions Club of Watertown. He plans to study theology, philosophy and the great books of Western civilization with a focus on education. He is leaning toward a career in youth ministry outreach and education.

Noah has competed in cross country, indoor and outdoor track. He belonged to the Watertown World Language Club, the National Honor Society, and the WHS Model U.N. Club.

He participated in the Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, Pep Band, and Jazz Band. He took part in the Theater Department, both acting and directing.

He has delivered Christmas presents to families in need, also volunteering at St. Vincent de Paul’s soup kitchen and Carolyn’s Place. 

He is a volunteer at St. John the Evangelist Church and sings in the choir. 

Any graduating Watertown High School senior may apply through the school’s guidance department. 

Winners are selected through the Scholarship Committee of the Lions Club, which includes Lion President Kathie Trowbridge and Lions Steve Bormolini, Melita Harris and Joe McGrail.
