HONORING AN ICON

Flags around the area, including at the Pearl Harbor Memorial Bridge in Oakville, have been flying at half mast in honor of the late U.S. Congressman and civil rights leader, Rep. John R. Lewis, D-Ga. Rep. Lewis passed away on July 17 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. Several funerals nationwide will observe his passing, and a private funeral service will take place today at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, Ga., where Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was once pastor. (Dreher photo)
