In celebration of Flag Day, James Stango walked from his home to the Oakville Green on a sunny Sunday, June 14. Parades all over Western Connecticut have been canceled this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but Mr. Stango, who represents Watertown Special Citizens as flag bearer in the town’s patriotic parades, loves to walk with the Stars and Stripes and couldn’t let Flag Day go by without marking the occasion. Mr. Stango also carries the flag in Memorial Day parades in Woodbury, Middlebury and Wethersfield; at Meriden’s Daffodil Festival and elsewhere around the state.
