WATERBURY— The Chase Collegiate School Foundation has awarded approximately $200,000 in scholarships to local students attending private schools.

All of the recipients were enrolled at the Chase Collegiate School, which announced in mid-August that it would not open in the fall.

Foundation Board Chair Louise Knies thanked fellow board members as well as the Office of the Mayor of Waterbury. “We are so pleased to be able to support these former Chase students as they continue their education. Our board members committed to this support readily and Mayor [Neil] O’Leary’s office was instrumental in helping connect the students with the foundation.”

The Chase Collegiate School Foundation holds the charitable assets and proceeds from the transfer of the former Chase Collegiate School.
