WATERBURY — Acts 4 Ministry, Inc., a non-denominational, non-profit charitable organization, will accept donations of new or gently worn coats, hats, gloves, scarves, sweatshirts and new socks, thermals and undergarments for children, men and women through Monday, February 28, 2022, during the 2021 Share the Warmth drive.

“Winters are challenging for everyone, especially for those who do not have basic things that many people take for granted. Acts 4 Ministry’s annual Share the Warmth campaign helps our community meet the physical needs of our most vulnerable members and lets them know they are not forgotten,” said Acts 4 Ministry Board of Directors Chairman John Bishop of Woodbury.

“Our goal each year”, added Sarah Elizabeth Carabetta, Acts 4 Ministry executive director, “is to ensure that people in need of assistance throughout our Greater Waterbury community have warm clothing during the entire cold season.

“Men’s and children’s coats and jackets are especially needed and we are very appreciative of receiving clean and gently-used winter items for women as well.”

Addition items sought for men, women and children include clean long-sleeve tops, sweat pants, pajamas, jeans, belts, underwear and undershirts, socks, slippers, sneakers, boots, winter hats and gloves and scarves.

Hoodies are especially desired for men. Sweaters, leggings and bras for women, plus onesies, snow suits, sweaters and leggings for children are also needed.

Donations can be taken from 9 a.m. to 2 pm. Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays to Acts 4 Ministry, 1713 Thomaston Ave., to receive a receipt for tax deductions.

Acts 4 Ministry’s mission is to provide individuals or families who have experienced a life devastating event with opportunities to rebuild their lives.

Clients personally select clothing, dishes, glassware, furnishings and other basic needs at no charge.

The organization partners with churches, social service agencies and public schools to identify and serve people with these needs in the context of the broader community regardless of their faith, race, creed or national origin, or their willingness to participate in religious activities.

Monetary donations, made payable to Acts 4 Ministry, may be sent to P.O. Box 4524, Waterbury 06704 or by visiting the Acts 4 website, www.acts4.org and tap on the click to give button.
