Local Author to Discuss and Sign Copies of His New Book at Library

WATERTOWN — Author Rocco Calabrese will be at the Watertown Library from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 28 to introduce and sign his new book of essays, “Historical Reflections of an Emigrant.” In this collection of essays, Mr. Calabrese contemplates his love and gratitude for the United States and ponders events over the past 7 years. The library is located at 470 Main St.

Mr. Calabrese began his journey to the United States, and U.S. citizenship, in 1954 from Pontelandolfo, Italy. Two days after his arrival at the age of 18, he started to work. 

He obtained both his bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from the University of Connecticut and had a long career in special education.

Mr. Calabrese co-founded, with Mrs. Phyllis Teach, The Watertown Area Association for Special Citizens. 

Since 1975, the mission of the WAASC has been to enhance the lives of those in Watertown, and the surrounding communities, with special needs.

All proceeds from the sale of “Historical Reflections of an Emigrant” will be donated to the Watertown Area Association for Special Citizens.

This event is free and open to the public. 

Books will be available for purchase.
