GOSHEN — The Torrington Historical Society will offer a car show fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, September 29 at Action Wildlife, 337 Torrington Rd.
Jim Mazzarelli, owner of Action Wildlife and host of the event, will donate the use of his property for the fundraiser. All proceeds from the car show will be used for a new ramp for persons with disabilities at the Torrington History Museum, operated by the Torrington Historical Society.
The show will feature antique automobiles, classic cars and special interest vehicles, including a 1918 American La France fire truck once used in Torrington and now owned by the historical society.
The cost of the event is $4 per person, children younger than 6 are free. Admission to the show includes all of the Action Wildlife attractions including the outdoor animal displays and the indoor museum exhibits.
The first 100 show cars will receive a dash plaque. Numerous awards for best vehicles will be presented and all car owners will be eligible for a variety of door prizes.
There is no cutoff date for show cars and everyone is welcome.
Food and beverages will be available all day and the show will take place rain or shine.
