LITCHFIELD – Marguerite Mullée, Ph.D., will lead a program on “The Development of Harmony: From Plainsong to Palestrina” from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 27, at Wisdom House Retreat and Conference Center, 229 East Litchfield R.

Participants will explore the beginnings of western music, beginning with Plainsong and creative chanting, the medieval ideas of combining texts in sacred music and the blossoming of Renaissance polyphonic music. 

Dr. Mullée is a graduate of Columbia University where she earned a doctorate in Conducting and Vocal Pedagogy. She is a professor of liturgical music and sacred art at Holy Apostles College and Seminary in Cromwell and the music consultant for Our Lady of Grace Monastery in Guildford. 

There is a fee, which includes lunch.
