WATERTOWN — Jeff Desmarais, the Democratic candidate for the 32nd State Senate District, invites constituents to attend a Town Hall Zoom meeting from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday, October 4.

The Zoom event will allow residents of the 32nd District to ask questions of the candidate and get to know him better.

“Covid-19 has forced us to engage with voters in new and creative ways,” explained Mr. Desmarais.

“To protect friends and neighbors, Zoom events have been the safest way to talk and exchange concerns and ideas. I want to hear what is on the minds of constituents in the 32nd District and in turn, give them a chance to learn more about me.”

Voters interested in attending the Town Hall Zoom meeting should email desmaraisforct@gmail.com to reserve a seat.

Reservations will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis for the first 100 guests who register.

Participants are invited to share a question with the candidate in the body of the email. Once a reservation is confirmed, the Zoom link will be forwarded to the voter.

Mr. Desmarais first will address questions emailed in advance.

The Zoom chat window will be open during the meeting for follow-up questions that will be addressed if time permits.

The Town Hall meeting will be moderated by Vanita Bhalla, 32nd District Representative of the Democratic State Central Committee.

Mr. Desmarais, a lifelong resident of Connecticut, served in the Army National Guard and graduated from the University of Connecticut with a bachelor’s in political science.

He, his wife, Joanna, a registered nurse at the Watermark at East Hill in Southbury, and their two children live in Watertown. Mr. Desmarais, a financial advisor, serves as the chairman of the Watertown Democratic Town Committee.
