LITCHFIELD — Thomas Villanova, president and chief executive officer of Litchfield Bancorp, has announced the promotion of Christine Bascetta-Gath to chief lending officer, effective January 31. Ms. Bascetta-Gath began her employment with Litchfield Bancorp in late 2018 as senior vice president, commercial lending officer. She began her banking career in 2010. Since then she has worked in multiple areas of commercial banking.
Prior to Litchfield Bancorp, Ms. Bascetta-Gath was the vice president and commercial/wholesale banker at United Bank. She was responsible for determining the lending needs and banking services for existing and potential customers.
Ms. Bascetta-Gath was also a vice president, manager in commercial lending and administration with Torrington Savings Bank.
This promotion comes as Bob Teittinen announces his retirement as of March 31.
“This is bittersweet and celebratory at the same time, however after eight years of sharing his wit and wisdom, Bob Teittinen is retiring from Litchfield Bancorp,” said Mr. Villanova. “In her short time with the bank, Christine has proven herself worthy of this promotion and I am personally thankful to have someone of this caliber to replace Bob.”
