WATERBURY-WATERTOWN — FD Community Federal Credit Union is asking the community to support the disadvantaged in their local areas by donating to its holiday clothing drive through Friday, December 10.

Those wishing to participate may drop off new or gently used winter clothing items to any of the branch lobbies in Waterbury at 601 Watertown Ave. and 281 Meriden Rd., and in Watertown at 48 Woodruff Ave.

Especially needed this year are men’s coats, jeans, and shoes, (size 9 or larger).

Donations will be collected and distributed by Acts 4 Ministries, a non-denominational, tax exempt 501(c)(3) charitable organization that supports the needs of families and individuals in financial distress through the collection and distribution of reusable furniture, clothing, and housewares.

This year’s collection will directly support the Hospitality Center for homeless adults.

“Surviving the winter is a challenging time for too many in our community,” says FD Community CEO Ann Marino.

“We have so many generous and selfless people in our towns, and this kind of support can go a long way to helping people get back on their feet and regain their place as productive members of our society. We’re blessed to be part of such a great community, and I thank everyone in advance for their support.”
