WATERBURY — The Archbishop’s Annual Appeal awarded $5,000 to Safe Haven of Greater Waterbury through its Vicariate Outreach Program.

The funding will be used to continue Safe Haven’s mission to provide free, comprehensive services to victims and survivors of domestic and sexual violence.

Executive Director Lee Schlesinger said, “we are so grateful to the parishioners of the churches in our service area that endorses this appeal. We could not do this work without the generosity of those that support our mission.

The Archdiocese of Hartford has assisted thousands since 1981 through its Archbishop’s Annual Appeal program. The appeal supports a wide array of community based charities throughout Hartford, New Haven and Litchfield Counties.
