MIDDLEBURY — Quassy Amusement and Waterpark, 2132 Middlebury Rd., has announced the release of a new virtual learning experience which highlights the property’s heritage as one of the few remaining trolley parks in the nation.

The online package includes a four-minute video and 10-question quiz which teachers may use as a history project in the classroom or as a virtual exercise for students who are working from home.

“We put some time and effort into this project,” said Quassy President Eric Anderson. “It’s been a challenging year for everyone, and we wanted to again reach out to educators with a worthwhile program that can be administered either in school or online.”

The park official continued, “This virtual educational program really highlights some of the history about Quassy and the amusement park industry in general.”

After the Covid-19 crisis swept the nation earlier this year, the family-owned business stepped to the forefront by offering a number of online educational projects for youngsters who were forced to learn at home due to the virus.

Teachers may download the history video from youtu.be/Kvi-i3j4oOo and the quiz is available at www.quassy.com/application/files/2416/0407/0961/Quassy_History_Quiz.pdf.

The virtual learning program complements Quassy’s existing free educational offerings, which include a history tour at the park, amusement ride physics projects, its Elementary worksheets and Wacky Science stage presentation.

Overviews of those programs may be seen at www.quassy.com/group-rates-catered-outings/school-trips.

Wacky Science and the history tour, available during the park’s 2021 season, require reservations through the park office at 203-758-2913.
