TORRINGTON — The Hartford HealthCare Ayer Neuroscience Institute will present a webinar entitled “Understanding the Risk of Stroke” by neurologist Hugh Cahill, M.D.

This free live webinar session will be offered from 5 to 6 p.m. Monday, September 13.

Those interested may join Dr. Cahill from the comfort of home phone, computer or tablet to learn about the signs and symptoms of a common stroke, the importance of timely intervention, and prevention, treatments and post stroke care.

A live question and answer session with the expert will follow the presentation.

Dr. Hugh Cahill is a neurologist with the Ayer Neuroscience Institute at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital at 780 Litchfield St. 

He is a graduate of College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass. and attended graduate school at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Md.

He received his medical degree from Marshall University in Huntington, W.Va. and completed his internship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn., where he also served as chief resident. Dr. Cahill is a member of the American Academy of Neurology and specializes in the treatment of strokes, multiple sclerosis and headaches.
