WATERBURY — The Waterbury Symphony Orchestra will present the Hooray for Hollywood! Picnic and Pops summer concerts at 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 5 and 6 p.m. Sunday, July 7. The July 5 concert will take place at South Farms in Morris, 21 Higbie Rd. and the July 7 concert will be at Hollow Park in Woodbury. Picnic and Pops is a family-friendly symphonic experience with an outdoor setting as its backdrop.
Led by Music Director and Conductor Leif Bjaland, the Waterbury Symphony’s 2019 concerts will showcase hit music from such classic movies as “Star Trek,” “The Pink Panther,” “42nd Street,” “Rocky” and “Bohemian Rhapsody.”
The program features music by composers John Williams, Henry Mancini and Bill Conti.
“The popularity of this concert, combined with the 30-year anniversary, provided us the perfect opportunity to expand our reach,” said Robert Cinnante, WSO executive director.
Tickets for the South Morris concert are $75 for VIP tickets, which include an indoor pre-concert reception with wine, a signature cocktail, heavy hors d’oeuvres, charcuterie and reserved concert seating; $15 for advanced tickets; $20 for day-of tickets and $5 for child tickets.
Children younger than 5 years old will be admitted for free.
No outside alcohol is allowed at South Farms.
Guests may purchase a variety of food, beer and wine once at the venue. Food trucks will be on site.
