U.S. Coast Guard Band Concert Set

NEW LONDON — The U.S. Coast Guard Band will present a special command performance of Joseph Schwantner’s “A New Morning for the World” at 7 p.m. Monday, January 18, from the Virtual Concert Hall via live-stream. The words of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. are woven into the music and delivered by retired Master Chief Petty Officer of the Coast Guard, Vincent Patton. All are invited to join this “Tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.,” in the Virtual Concert Hall.

Due to concerns regarding the spread of coronavirus, the Coast Guard Band will not be performing for live audiences until further notice. In the meantime, virtual performances are via YouTube by searching “United States Coast Guard Band” and subscribing.

The Virtual Concert Hall can also be accessed through a live-stream link on Coast Guard Band Facebook page, which is active with updates and video performances.
