WOODBURY — New Morning Songwriter’s Series will return at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, September 28, with an evening of the region’s finest songwriters featuring Anne Marie Menta, Richard Neal, Susan Kane and Kyle Hancharick. The series focuses on singer-songwriters and includes both local and touring acts in an “in the round” format where the artists take turns performing their songs.
Anne Marie Menta is a longtime New Haven area singer-songwriter who has released three CDs and is currently working on her fourth.
Her personal folk-pop tunes deal with the usual themes of love, loss and family, but aim to bring the listener to the not-so-usual place of recognition, solace and hope.
Richard Neal is a songwriter, producer, recording engineer and performing artist. His songs have been covered by several artists and can be heard in shows on the Discovery Channel, truTV and others. Richard has released three CDs of original music, including his most recent, “A Step Up.”
Susan Kane is a singer-songwriter from the New York Area. Her sweet and sharp Americana music is an alchemy of stuff dug from the dirt, born from books, gleaned from the air, yesterday’s news and tomorrow’s daydreams. She weaves words and melodies to create songs to remember.
It’s always about the music for Kyle Hancharick, a singer-songwriter from Warwick, N.Y. His passionate performances are punctuated by a crisp acoustic guitar and soaring tenor vocals. Kyle takes in the world, processes it and turns it into song with his own special touch.
Doors will open at 7 p.m. and the show will start promptly at 7:30. Desserts, refreshments and light fare will be available.
