DANBURY — The Connecticut Master Chorale has announced its holiday and spring concert dates.

The chorale, under the direction of Tina Johns, will present its annual holiday prelude concert Sunday, November 24.

Songs such as “A Spanish Christmas” are scheduled for the Advent, Hanukkah and Christmas holidays.

The diverse collection includes joyous carols, big band, calypso, gospel and the return of the ever-popular steel drums.

The chorale will be accompanied by the Master Chorale Holiday Brass and Joseph Jacovino on keyboards.

The spring concert will be Sunday, March 29, featuring “To Hope! A Celebration” by Dave Brubeck.

This concert will be a celebration for the 100th birthday of Mr. Brubeck by honoring his music contributions.

“I’m Gonna Sing!” by André Thomas will be played at the spring concert.

Dr. Thomas is a distinguished conductor, composer and arranger who is well-known for his wonderful arrangements of traditional spirituals. This collection includes “I’m Gonna Sing!,” “Deep River,” “Swing Down Chariot” and “Keep Your Lamps.”

The chorale will be joined by mezzo-soprano Wendy Gerbier and accompanied by the Master Chorale Orchestra and Joseph Jacovino on keyboards.

The concerts will take place at the First Congregational Church, 164 Deer Hill Ave.
