LITCHFIELD — The 20th annual A Fall Gathering of Artists is set for Friday, October 11 through Monday, October 14, at the Litchfield Firehouse, 258 West St. The exhibit will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday through Sunday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Columbus Day. An artists’ reception with demonstrations will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, October 12.

The event will feature approximately 30 award-winning local artists and artisans.

Artists will display their latest paintings, prints, photography, jewelry, pottery, woodwork, stained glass and fused glass.

“This type of exhibit benefits art enthusiasts by offering a variety of artwork at affordable prices,” said Mally DeSomma, the show’s founder and coordinator. The show also benefits the artists, who are often present during most or all of the show.

“It’s a great opportunity for us to view each other’s work, share technical knowledge and learn from one another,” said Ms. DeSomma. “It also gives the public a chance to get to know the artists and experience their creative vision firsthand.”

Lorraine Skelskey Chapin of Southbury has also been part of the show from the start.

She brings her landscapes to life by modulating light, color and form.

A plein-air painter, her passion is capturing scenery that speaks to the soul.

New to the show this year is Donnalee Robinson, whose elegant, one-of-a-kind jewelry is handcrafted with a blend of fine, quality materials and imaginative designs.

Admission is free.

Those seeking further information may call Ms. DeSomma at 203-574-3954.
